Wednesdays 4:15 - 5:15pm  $40/class ages 8-12

Science for Home School Families

ages 8 - 11  

Course focus for 2016-17 school year - Physics

Dates: Thursdays    Time: 10:00am - 11:30am   Price: $40/ per class​ hour



Coding & Game design Thursdays  3:30-5:00

ages 7 & up

Design a video game, create an interactive website and work with a variety of programmable devices to learn how to control robots.  This course will introduce SCRATCH coding, which will help students master the skills needed to produce a wide range of projects. This class includes physical game design as well as computer based games.

NOTE: This class is 1.5 hrs

Pick up at neighborhood schools can be arranged.  PS 163 pickup scheduled for Thursday class at no additional charge. 

​​Engineering & Science - Wednesday or Thursday   

  ages 7-12

Here is your chance to explore and create using batteries, lights, motors, construction materials (Lego, Knex and more) and lots of recyclables (cardboard, bottles, egg cartons, old CDs, etc.).  Using the principles of engineering mechanics and physics to understand how and why things work the way they do, students will learn problem solving, design process and construction skills. Combine science themes with engineering principles to create unique interactive projects. 3D printing and laser cutting will be included throughout the program to design and produce parts as needed.

Tuesdays 6:30-8:00pm $40/person 

Basic instruction time and use of our equipment. 


Intro to Laser cutting & 3D Printing

Wednesday  6:30-8:00pm  $40/person 

Includes instruction and creation of a project. 


Intro to Machine Sewing

Thursdays. $40/person  6:30-8pm

Make our projects with our material or bring your own.

Engineering & Coding - Tuesday

ages 6-9

Combine engineering projects with beginning coding to make interactive projects.  Explore and create with robots, construction materials (Lego, Knex and more) and lots of recyclables (cardboard, bottles, egg cartons, old CDs, etc.). Students will be introduced to SCRATCH and READY coding languages and learn to mix computer games and physical projects.  The emphasis will be on building and engineering and we will use coding to create unique projects.
